My doctor knows more about cancer than I do, but I'm the one who's with me 24-7. Either because he's truly a good doc or just to placate me, he explained that each of his patients are his eyes and ears into their particular case when he can't be with them. The medical system and its practitioners are fallible; for each of us, this one body and one life are all we KNOW we're going to get.
